Monopoly Mania

Well, our kids can't seem to get enough of eachother!! Some of the Davis and Mulhearn kiddos went to see the new Narnia movie while the rest of us got together at the Mulhearns house to play Monopoly and get some more visit time in before they leave for Virginia on Friday. Alyssa and Olivia were evenly matched!!

The younger crowd plays a round.

Jenny, Olivia, Josh, Alyssa and Leah play while the others are at the movies.

Olivia won! And Alyssa let her live afterwards (while trying to steal her money!)!

So long, farewell,auf Wiedersehen, goodbye. . .

Friendship is a sweet blessing the Lord gives us while we are here on this earth. We have always counted ourselves lucky to be surrounded by many great families with whom not only does the frienship run between us adults, but also our children. Today we gathered at our house to celebrate a last Davis-Mulhearn-Bandowski family get-together! The Mulhearn family, by God's providence, is moving to Williamsburg, Virginia this Friday, where their dad will be starting a new job adventure. We will miss them greatly! The Bandowski & Mulhearn families have become like family to us. Our three families get along so very well, it is a rare find for sure! The kids and I keep saying that we can't tell God that we don't like this, since His hand has been so obvious in this move. So we will just say that a lot of computer time will be spent keeping up with our good friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
May "The Lord Bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace" (Numbers 7:3) Mulhearn Family, as you travel this unknown road. We have great hope and faith in the knowledge that God goes with you every step of the way! And we know that He will make good come out of this move, for you and for those of us here, still missing you all!!

Alec's 10th Birthday

November 27, 2010
Hard to believe our Alec turned 10. Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday he was this cute little 3 year old guy who always had a huge smile and a twinkle in those big baby blues of his. This is one of my favorite pictures of the birthday boy!
Happy Birthday Alec!

Alec: Greek, Scottish origin. Means defender of mankind

Robert: Old German. Means bright fame.

Thanksgiving, Alec and the Twins birthday

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday!
We celebrated Thanksgiving at our house this year.
It was also the day we celebrated Alec's 10th birthday and the Twins 3rd birthday. The actual date that they share for a birthday is Nov. 27th.
Alec and the girls checking out the cake.

Alec and his buddies! The girls LOVE "their Alec" (as they call him) and he loves them!

More Branson / Silver Dollar City

The light show in SDC is really awesome. The kids loved watching the lights put to music. It got everyone in a festive mood. It is also nice to visit a place like Silver Dollar City and have the reason for the Christmas Season displayed so prominently! No "Happy Holidays" here, it was all "Merry Christmas". So here are a few pictures of the lights and of Day 2 in the park!

Part of the Light Parade held every night.
Santa!
The real meaning of Christmas!
Alec's favorite float! Can you guess why? It's a snow globe, his favorite!

The kids joke, since I made them take some school work on our trip!
A cool picture by Taylor!
Dad and Jack waiting for the parade!
My own Ginger Bread kids! Alec, Ryan, Olivia & Jack!

Alec gets to assist the magician for the magic show.

Jacks's turn to help out!

The boy's get the stocks!!

So, we finally talked Jack into riding this. Not a good idea. For those that were with him, "NO WOOING!!"
Jack's revenge for making him ride the above ride ;-)
Jack and his rock candy! What you eat looks good on you, buddy!

Branson/Silver Dollar City

We were blessed to be able to go to Branson with Bobby's Aunt Alta and Uncle Dave for almost a week before Thanksgiving. The Christmas lights were up and it was a special time as a family. Taylor's friend Emily was able to come and join us for part of the week and the girls had a great time!
Ryan, Bobby, Taylor and Alec ride Powder Keg. Alec was excited as this was the first year he road all the coasters!!
Olivia and Aunt Alta ride Powder Keg. They were coaster buddies since they both like the front and back seats!!
Ryan, Emily and Taylor caught with their hand in the candy jar! Their favorite place is the fugdge shop!

Schiedmantel Lodge Evening activities

The Bonfire and s'mores!!
Everyone enjoyed the huge marshmallows!
Well, maybe not Taylor! Big sis helped all the kids get their s'mores made! A little sticky goes a long way!!
Nathaniel and Keegan

A cute Jack!
Olivia & Kayla!

Alec and the perfectly roasted marshmallow.
Waiting patiently for Taylor to hook him up with graham crackers and a chocolate bar.
Now that's what I call a s'more!!

Alec trying to eat and roast another one!

After all that work, Taylor finally gets to make one for herself!

Dad and mom enjoy a little quiet time on the deck swing. What a beautiful morning it was!

Cheyanne rowing in against a stiff current. The wind really picked up the second day and Chey and Olivia really had a hard time rowing back to shore against the wind current. Olivia had to be rescued by the boys because she didn't weigh enough to get any umph behind her rowing. It was like watching someone row on a treadmill. . .rowing really fast but not going anywhere!!
